Peter Hsu is going home on compassionate leave for a final visit with his dying mother. His job is in question because he’s made the mistake of trusting the wrong man, someone with an agenda, who threatens to go to his commanding officer with a secretly recorded video tape of him committing “homosexual acts” unless Peter is willing to pay. He’s up for re-enlistment, so he can choose to bag his career rather than fight, but it’s not his nature to be intimidated. On top of that, his mother is succumbing to cancer after a long fight. He arrives home angry, numb with shock and grief, and looking toward an uncertain future.
Peter immediately resents his mother’s caregiver, a handsome Jamaican man named Robin. Robin has all the patience and compassion that Peter lacks, making him feel replaced and resentful. But he’s also experiencing the pull of a strong attraction to Robin, who’s intelligence, sunny disposition, loyalty, and gentle, loving care of Shelley Hsu -not to mention his smoking hot body- tie Peter in knots he can't begin to untangle. Peter has some tough choices and a hard life ahead if he makes the wrong ones. But Robin wants to stand by him and support him, whatever he chooses.

I have no excuses. I started reading Yaoi when my kids decided they had to read every manga ever published and I got tired of little ninja boys and magical girls. I sat in the corner with Descendants of Darkness and my world was officially rocked.
I started to read love stories between men, and my official position is that if one hot guy in a book is good, then two is arguably better. If you add to that the fact that I believe everyone should have a happy ending? Well, this is the end result.
